How I Got My WLE: October 26th
To get this internship was no easy task. I first was calling "Prestige," a photography place, and that turned up nothing since I never got anyone and no one called me back. I tried several graphic design places I found in the phone book which turned out to be companies, which were very rude in telling me that they don't accept internships. Next, I tried some Galleries. One was closed, two were framing shops and one was closing, one somehow became disconnected, and the last one has responded and sounds interested. However, I got my internship at Bowmen Elementary in the YEP program as an aid. I got this just by calling one day and Mr. Hector, the guy who runs the YEP program, tells me to come in for an interview. My dad drops me off, and after I chat with Mr. Hector said he wouldn't mind as long as I worked. I got this internship by using effective problem solving, because I kept calling and calling and calling until I finally got one. So for Wednesdays and Fridays I will be going to Bowman Elementary to work as an aid for the YEP program which is an after school program that helps kids out and have fun. That's all folks.
